The Austin Neighborhoods Council started its July meeting with an announcement that the organization has 94 members. Thank you to all of our members!

Dr. Fred McGee, Ph.D., LEED Green Association, BPI Certified Professional, presented Rosewood Courts, Preservation and Affordability.

ANC Sector 7 representative, Tom Nuckols, presented the latest draft of the ANC Platform Rollout. Please send any comments to platform@ancweb.org by July 30th.

Mary Ingle, ANC President, and Jeff Jack, Land Development Code Advisory Committee member, provided an update on the CodeNext/LDC rewrite process. Please consider attending the next CodeNext Advisory Group meeting on August 25, 2014, at One Texas Ctr., Conference Rm. 325, 505 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704, at 4:00PM.

John-Michael Cortez, Community Involvement Manager for Capitol Metro, presented Project Connect’s Urban Rail Proposal.

Dr. Bo McCarver, Ph.D., Chair of the Blackland Community Development Corporation presented the Resolution: Alternative Plans for I-35 Corridor. Members voted to table the vote until the August meeting. Members, please send your comments to BMCCARVER@austin.rr.com as soon as possible.

Malcolm Yeatts, ANC Sector 9 representative, announced that Transit Corridor Plans may trump the Neighborhood Plan Amendment Process, and recommended that neighborhoods be aware of these conflicts.
